Bright Moments June Update

CryptoCitizens & Bright Moments Community –

Here’s what people are saying about Bright Moments Tokyo:

A sincere thank you to everyone who made the trip. We couldn’t have done it without you.

We’re now preparing to go from the center of the world to the end of it.

Next stop: Buenos Aires.

Operations Update

In May we:

  • Hosted Bright Moments Tokyo from May 5-10, bringing together hundreds of collectors and artists from around the world.
  • Minted 3,000+ new works across our generative art, AI, and Japanese Contemporary collections. Artists include Alexis Andre, Jeff Davis, Kim Asendorf, Kjetil Golid, Lars Wander, Licia He, Melissa Wiederrecht, Qubibi, Spongenuity, Takawo Shunsuke, Michaël Zancan, Claire Silver, Ganbrood, Helena Sarin, Holly Herndon & Mat Dryhurst, Huemin, Ivona Tau, Jenni Pasanen , Kevin Abosch, Mario Klingemann, Pindar Van Arman, Sofia Crespo, A-Mashiro, A.A.Murakami, Daito Manabe, Emi Kusano, Joi Ito, Kaoru Tanaka, Kazuhiro Aihara, ykxotkx, Okazz, Saeko Ehara, 0xhaiku, and more.
  • Partnered with Art Blocks, Ledger, Samsung, Suntory, Digital Garage, PICS, Pace Verso, AMBUSH, and the Shibuya Mayor’s Office to transform a skyscraper in downtown Tokyo into a digital art gallery.
  • Manufactured and installed 11 custom screen casings to display generative art at the Asakura Residence, a historical Japanese home.
  • Minted all 1,000 CryptoTokyoites, completing the 7th city in our roadmap and introducing 334 local artists and collectors into our Bright Moments Tokyo community. With a special guest mint of Tokyoite #999 by long-time DAO member André 3000.
  • Hosted cosponsored dinners with Art Blocks, Pace Verso, Ledger, and Suntory to bring together artists and collectors throughout Tokyo.
  • Conducted hands-on workshops and artist panels with Matt DesLauriers, Le Random, and many of our featured artists to discuss the past and future of digital art.
  • Distributed our third Quarterly, a limited edition print magazine with artist interviews and features in English and Japanese.
  • Featured in local and international press, including Decrypt, GQ Japan, Black Box, Artouch, and the 100 PROOF podcast.
  • Returned the team home from Japan and took some well deserved rest.

In June we plan to:

  • Host retrospectives for collections minted during Tokyo, giving our community an opportunity to engage with our recently minted works IRL before we introduce new projects.
  • Visit Buenos Aires to scout potential venues, meet artists and community members, and help shape the creative direction for City #8.
  • Spend time organizing and planning our product roadmap, especially around areas like our marketplace, collections page, and display technology.
  • Launch the vote to determine the location of City #9, selecting from a range of cities that include past favorites and new community nominated “wildcards”.

Asks:

  • Contribute to the discussion around City #9 in our #city-talk channel
  • Help make introductions to potential artists, partners, and community members in Buenos Aires and Venice, Italy where we will be completing the roadmap in April 2024.

CryptoCitizens & Bright Moments Community – Places are powerful things. Our first sandy gallery under the Venice sign. The white walls and cobblestone streets of 150 Wooster Street. Kraftwerk's monumental canvas. The trip to Spongenuity's studio that led to our summer between Soho and Mayfair. The hospitality of Prim's artistic playground. The pristine PARCO building and the subdued garden of the Asakura residence. The decayed grandeur of the Palacio Guerrico and the windswept beauty of the...

CryptoCitizens & Bright Moments Community – After months of planning, Bright Moments Buenos Aires has wrapped. Words can't describe the creative energy in Argentina. Luckily, they don't have to. The must-watch recap: In addition to minting the Buenos Aires Collection and our CryptoPatagonians, we continued our journey south to Patagonia with 0xDEAFBEEF. There, we gathered 50 collectors at the end of the world to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Hashmarks. 0xDEAFBEEF...

CryptoCitizens & Bright Moments Community – Our project was designed for completion. Three years, ten cities, and ten thousand on-chain CryptoCitizens. That's what we are focused on accomplishing. Everything else — the market, the price, the hype — is just noise. We don't expect everyone to get it, but the ones who do understand the importance of what we've set out to achieve. Good thing too, because we can't do it alone. Thanks to everyone who has been part of our journey. Onto Buenos Aires....
