Bright Moments July Update

CryptoCitizens & Bright Moments Community –

The conventional viewpoint is that NFTs are dead. The market is down, and many of the loudest voices have left the space in search of greener pastures.

We're busier than ever.

Over the next month, we will be heads down planning for three simultaneous city events: Buenos Aires, City #9, and Venice Italy. The first of these, Bright Moments Buenos Aires, will take place from November 2-5.

Our team is now globally distributed, with contributors in six countries and physical locations in Venice Beach, New York City, Berlin, London, CDMX, and Tokyo.

Our roadmap remains the same: continue building the world's best international art community, one city at a time.

We hope you'll join us for the ride.

Operations Update

In June we:

  • Hosted retrospectives for FULL_SPECTRUM, Event Horizon, CIVICS, and FOLIO.
  • Visited Buenos Aires. We met an amazing group of artists, identified several world class venues, and laid the foundation for our show in November.
  • Announced the dates for Bright Moments Buenos Aires. We will be minting our next CryptoCitizen collection, the CryptoPatagonians, from November 2-5.
  • Refined and simplified our product roadmap. Expect to see big changes coming to the portal, as well as some improvements to our live minting flow.
  • Launched the vote to determine the location of City #9: Athens, Dubai, Cape Town, Paris, or Seoul. The vote is now active, and wallets that vote have an increased chance of receiving a CryptoPatagonian airdrop.
  • Launched Bright Moments Editions, an onchain way to collect artifacts from our journey around the world. Editions are free open-edition mints that capture the iconic poster design from our creative director and CryptoCitizen artist Qian.

In July we plan to:

  • Announce several new projects, including our next collaboration with Art Blocks after Metropolis.
  • Host Beervangeer & Studio Poca in Berlin for their new project, Totem.
  • Celebrate the sellout of Julian Hespenheide's latest project, FSM, at our Berlin gallery. FSM was released on fxhash yesterday and sold out within an hour.
  • Continue hosting artists at our global gallery network for Spotlight events, including Zach Lieberman, Mario Klingemann, and more.
  • Host DREAMFORUM from July 21-23 in Venice Beach, a 3-day AI conference in partnership with Deforum.
  • Mint our latest artist-in-residence project, Epiphanies by Jimena Buena Vida. Epiphanies is open-edition and available until the end of July. Each mint is 0.05 ETH, available via the marketplace or IRL at any of our galleries.

CryptoCitizens & Bright Moments Community – Places are powerful things. Our first sandy gallery under the Venice sign. The white walls and cobblestone streets of 150 Wooster Street. Kraftwerk's monumental canvas. The trip to Spongenuity's studio that led to our summer between Soho and Mayfair. The hospitality of Prim's artistic playground. The pristine PARCO building and the subdued garden of the Asakura residence. The decayed grandeur of the Palacio Guerrico and the windswept beauty of the...

CryptoCitizens & Bright Moments Community – After months of planning, Bright Moments Buenos Aires has wrapped. Words can't describe the creative energy in Argentina. Luckily, they don't have to. The must-watch recap: In addition to minting the Buenos Aires Collection and our CryptoPatagonians, we continued our journey south to Patagonia with 0xDEAFBEEF. There, we gathered 50 collectors at the end of the world to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Hashmarks. 0xDEAFBEEF...

CryptoCitizens & Bright Moments Community – Our project was designed for completion. Three years, ten cities, and ten thousand on-chain CryptoCitizens. That's what we are focused on accomplishing. Everything else — the market, the price, the hype — is just noise. We don't expect everyone to get it, but the ones who do understand the importance of what we've set out to achieve. Good thing too, because we can't do it alone. Thanks to everyone who has been part of our journey. Onto Buenos Aires....
